With the widespread application of laser technology in the field of medical beauty, the scientific nature of postoperative care has also received increasing attention. Clinical observations have shown that more than 80% of postoperative complications of laser surgery (such as persistent erythema, pigment abnormalities, and impaired barrier function) are directly related to improper care. Why is it recommended to use medical skin care products after laser surgery? What is the effect? Today, let's discuss it together.

The principle of the medical beauty photoelectric project is "destruction before construction", that is, by first destroying certain structures of the skin and then promoting its reconstruction. Whether based on selective photothermal effect, focal photothermal effect, or radiofrequency thermal effect, these photoelectric treatment methods will change the structure or function of the skin, which may damage the skin barrier.

It mainly manifests in the following three aspects:

1. Destruction of skin integrity

Therapies such as laser, intense pulsed light, microneedle radio frequency, and invasive bipolar radio frequency can directly form wounds on the skin and destroy skin integrity. The size and depth of these wounds vary depending on the treatment method.

2. Changes in skin structure

Although a large number of non-ablative and non-invasive treatments do not directly damage the integrity of the skin, they still have an impact on the skin structure. For example, pulsed dye lasers can close blood vessels, Q-switched lasers or picosecond lasers can blast melanin particles, and fractional lasers can produce columnar coagulation zones.

3. Changes in cell function

Phototherapy usually produces a thermal effect, which may interfere with the normal function of epidermal cells and affect the activity of enzymes, thereby weakening the skin barrier function, even if the temperature does not reach the destructive threshold. In addition, despite the use of skin cooling equipment, the accumulated heat may still cause damage to the skin barrier.

After phototherapy, the skin may experience short-term side effects such as dryness, erythema, edema, increased sensitivity and risk of infection. Good postoperative care can accelerate the natural recovery of the skin, shorten the inflammatory period, and promote wound healing.

Medical skin care products, also known as "pharmaceutical cosmetics", are a type of product between traditional cosmetics and topical dermatological drugs. Compared with ordinary cosmetics, medical skin care products have the following significant characteristics: ① Medicinal efficacy: It has specific skin care effects and can solve skin problems in a targeted manner; ② Safety: The ingredients are simple and have been strictly tested, and it is friendly to sensitive skin; ③ Targetedness: It is designed for specific skin problems and the effect is more precise; ④ Professionalism: The research and development and production processes follow medical standards and are more scientific and authoritative.

Medical skin care products play an important role in skin rejuvenation and postoperative care through the synergistic effect of multiple active ingredients. Regular use of such products after surgery can not only promote wound healing, but also minimize postoperative side effects. The following are its specific effects:

①Sunscreen

②Reduce redness and inflammation: Skin care products containing antioxidant and anti-inflammatory ingredients can effectively relieve postoperative inflammation and redness. Common antioxidant ingredients include vitamin C (ascorbic acid), vitamin E (tocopherol) and vitamin B₃ (niacinamide).

③ Promote skin healing: Although treatments such as microneedles can help wound healing by stimulating collagen synthesis, the combination of skin care products can further accelerate repair. For example, products containing growth factors or cytokines can promote epidermal renewal and reduce scar formation; Centella asiatica extract is also commonly used in skin repair and has significant healing effects.

④ Improve skin moisturizing and barrier function

⑤ Prevent post-inflammatory pigmentation

⑥ Daily care to prolong treatment effects: According to skin characteristics (such as dryness, oiliness, pigmentation or inflammation), targeted skin care products can be used for daily postoperative care to consolidate the skin rejuvenation effect and solve other potential problems.

A study selected 142 patients who received laser cosmetic treatment and divided them into a control group and an observation group by a random double-blind method, with 71 cases in each group. Among them, there were 38 patients with damaging laser and 33 patients with non-damaging laser in the control group. In the observation group, there were 35 patients with damaging laser and 36 patients with non-damaging laser. The control group received routine postoperative laser care, including keeping clean, paying attention to sun protection, and not wearing makeup for 24 hours. The observation group received routine laser postoperative care + use of medical masks within 1 week after surgery. The masks were stored at low temperatures and applied to the face for 20 minutes twice a day. Routine laser postoperative care was the same as that of the control group.

The results showed that the use of medical masks within one week after laser surgery can significantly reduce the symptoms of facial redness, swelling, heat and pain, and improve patient satisfaction. This is because the redness, swelling, heat and pain after laser surgery not only bring discomfort, but also may aggravate the patient's anxiety, thereby affecting postoperative recovery. On the one hand, medical masks relieve discomfort through physical cooling, and on the other hand, their essence ingredients (such as hyaluronic acid, growth factors, collagen, etc.) can effectively promote skin repair and significantly reduce the frequency and severity of postoperative redness, swelling, heat and pain, thereby greatly improving patients' comfort and satisfaction.

Postoperative nursing principles for photoelectric project treatment: anti-inflammatory repair + hydration and moisturizing + sun protection, none of which can be missing.
